What is The City of Red Deer's Open Data Catalogue?
As part of an initiative to improve the accessibility, transparency and accountability of City Government, this catalogue provides access to City managed datasets. The data is available for download in several machine-readable formats. By downloading or accessing this data, you are agreeing to be bound by the Terms of Use.
Are datasets available for Free?
Yes, all data available on The City of Red Deer Open Data website is free to download and use in other applications. By downloading or accessing this data, you are agreeing to be bound by the Terms of Use.
How often are datasets added or updated?

Each dataset is updated at regular intervals; either daily, monthly or annually. To see when a dataset is updated, view the Last Updated Date for each dataset.

New datasets are added to the Dataset List regularly. Check the Homepage to see new datasets when available.

How do I request a new Dataset?

  1. All rights, title and interest (including copyright, patent and other intellectual property rights) contained in the available datasets remains vested in the City of Red Deer at all times.

The City of Red Deer (the “City”) grants you a worldwide, royalty‐free, non‐exclusive license to use, modify, and distribute the datasets in all current and future media and formats for any lawful purpose, including for commercial purposes. You are free to copy, modify, publish, translate, adapt, distribute or otherwise use the datasets in any medium, mode or format for any lawful purpose. You agree that this license does not give you a copyright or other proprietary interest in the datasets. If you distribute or provide access to the datasets to any other person, whether in original or modified form, you agree to include a copy of, or this Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for, these Terms of Use and to ensure any such person agrees to, and is bound by, them without introducing any further restrictions of any kind.
  3. Although you are not required to credit the City for each use or reproduction of the datasets, you are entitled to do so and encouraged to conspicuously announce that these datasets are publicly available from the City under these Terms of Use. Upon the request of the City, you may be required to remove a credit from future uses or reproductions should the City, in its sole discretion, request that you do so.
  4. You assume sole responsibility for your use and reproduction of the datasets and for complying with all applicable laws and industry standards.
  5. The City may at any time for any reason, in its sole discretion, cancel or suspend your access to the datasets or the Open Data Catalogue without notice and for any reason, including without limitation anything which the City, in its sole discretion, believes is a breach of these Terms of Use or is otherwise unlawful or harmful to others. In the event of cancellation or suspension, you will no longer be authorized to use or reproduce these datasets, and the City may use any means possible to enforce its decision.   8. The City of Red Deer does not warranty or guarantee the accuracy, currency, or completeness of the available datasets. Ongoing updates may not be incorporated into the datasets available on the City of Red Deer website. Your use of the database is solely at your risk. While reasonable effort has been made in preparing these databases, all Users are urged to verify the accuracy of information against copies of actual plans or source documents.
  9. If there is a conflict between the information in the Open Data Catalogue on the web page and information contained in any other records of the City of Red Deer or documents that may be prepared by or delivered to the City of Red Deer, the City of Red Deer reserves the right to rely in all cases upon the record which it considers to be the most accurate and complete.
