This free event is open to everyone, registration is required doors open at 8:30 am and we will begin with our morning workshop:</p>\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-CA;\">An Introduction and Understanding of Canadian Treaties: A Shared History</span></strong></p>\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-CA;\">Presented by: Terry Lakey &amp; Brian St. Germain</span></p>\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-CA;\">This introductory presentation on Canadian treaties will explore historical and contemporary information relating to the numbered treaties. Participants will gain an understanding of our shared past and examine the spirit and intent of these treaties. Have you practiced being an ally in the Indigenous community in the past year? What are some of the learning experiences you have had that make you a better ally? What do you need to know and do to be an even more effective and supportive ally?</span></p>\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"mso-fareast-language: EN-CA;\">And&hellip;let&rsquo;s talk about land acknowledgements! Who is responsible for the land acknowledgement? What does it mean and why do we do land acknowledgements?
